Technical Assistance

The Center established the License Recovery for Low-Income Drivers Technical Assistance Program to increase the number of licensed, low-income drivers in the United States, increasing their opportunities to find family-supporting jobs and improving their quality of life.  The program assists state and local governments, non-profit organizations, and federal agencies with specific information and actionable steps to facilitate this mission.

The impact of this assistance is expected to increase independence and self-sufficiency of low-income residents; make low-income job applicants more employable for higher wage jobs; and decrease traffic court cases for license suspensions and revocations that are not related to safety, which will decrease the significant costs to support continuous law enforcement, fine collection, and incarceration.
